🔹Memorizing stroke order. Each character is written in a specific sequence, and you need to know it by heart.
🔹Memorizing the tone of each character when pronouncing it. Chinese is a tonal language; incorrect pronunciation completely changes the meaning of a word.
🔹Memorizing pinyin, the Latin transcription.
🔹Memorizing the translation, i.e., the connection between the image and its meaning in Russian.
🔹Memorizing the components of characters, the graphemes. These are like roots in normal languages. Graphemes repeat across different characters, and if you know them, you can guess the meaning of unknown ones from context.
🔹Memorizing variations of characters as graphemes. The same character is written differently when it stands alone versus when it is part of another, more complex character.
But on the bright side, there are no complex tenses, articles, genders, or other unnecessary nonsense.
Good evening 😄
