We were in France in '24
I photographed a wide variety of containers for separate waste collection in Paris. They are literally everywhere, on the most central streets and in famous parks
I googled it - mandatory separate collection has been introduced in France since the 90s. In the basements of houses there are containers for different types of waste: non-recyclable waste, recyclable waste (paper, plastic, metal) and glass separately.
They say about 42% of waste is recycled
In stores, I didn't see any super eco-friendly approach overall. Yes, there are stores, especially in the center, where disposable paper bags are used instead of plastic ones. But that's even less eco-friendly. Otherwise, everything is usual - lots of plastic, disposable packaging
What else we noticed - it's very quiet in the center, there are a lot of electric cars, plus expensive parking lots, in this sense it's very comfortable
