⚓ Here I wanted to show that the captain is little interested in the problems of a simple cabin boy; Leandre deliberately demonstrates this to keep his distance. I also showed the contrast between the restrained deck of the ship and the richly furnished captain's cabin. These details will be revealed a little later in the story.
