Yesterday I went with Ivan Idy Begy Edu to one of the most fashionable courtyards in Moscow, where I was last year and cursed like crazy here.
Since then, a wine bar called Kompanion has appeared there, consisting of one long table.
The snacks are okay, but Moscow-stamped, except that the Pithivier with beef surprised me (it's a subtype of pie).
I can neither praise nor criticize the wine selection; there are both classics and so-called bio-shmio; Ivan mostly drank Georgian muddy stuff made from fruit drink and fuel oil (serves him right), while I checked out the classics. Provence is fine, by the way, and unexpectedly almost the most budget-friendly by-the-glass option.
A glass at Kompanion is like in a corporate conflict - 100 ml.
I dream that people will start actively traveling to wine countries again and such crap will disappear from Russian wine lists due to customer exposure and culture.
When paying, they offered to include a 10% service charge in the bill; we are decent people, if everything is okay, we leave tips anyway, but we were taken aback by such persistent offers and the lack of options.
The courtyard, by the way, has become nicer, but they dismantled Stonehenge.
