About seven years ago, I came across a rabbit, I still kept mongrels, really cool.

Mongrels have a significant drawback – the unpredictable quality of the breeders. So, despite her main flaw, I kept her.

So. The rabbit was good in every way. Except for one thing. She pooped in the nest.
She pooped in the nest before kindling. And during kindling. And after kindling. Good thing not instead of kindling 😁

In the end. I managed to beat her only with a nest with a removable bottom.

I beat it like this. Every day I removed the sucked straw from the nest and laid fresh straw.
When she stopped peeing in the nest, and there were only droppings, I stirred the straw with a stick so that the droppings would fall through.
I put the wet straw in the exercise pen.


Before kindling, a board at the bottom of the nest is mandatory.

They dig. You can see claw scratches in the photo.
Once I allowed the rabbit to build a nest without a solid bottom. And she, with the nest full of straw, dug down to the bottom and kindled on the wire mesh. All froze. In summer.

This bottom in the nest is needed only for about a week. I put it a week before kindling and remove it after kindling.

I haven't kept rabbits for a year. I bought a male and two females in December.
Andryukha and Makha turned out to be well-mannered. But Milana pooped in the nest before kindling.

She didn't like me. She didn't accept me for two months. Then one day she loved me and immediately went into heat.
