Description [en]: Principal photography began on March 16, 2020 at Babelsberg Studios, near Berlin, Germany. On September 16, 2020, filming moved to Berlin, and set photos were published online. In early October 2020, filming took place in Alicante and Valencia, Spain, including the coastal town of Jávea. On October 23, 2020, Holland finished filming his scenes, before production wrapped on October 29 in Barcelona. In July 2021, reshoots took place in Madrid.

The Plane

In the movie

Scene where Victor jumps out of the plane with a parachute, and Nathan, trying to escape, drops the cargo from the plane. But the cargo, in the form of large wooden crates, turns out to be tied together and securely fastened in the hold. So the boxes simply knock Nathan Drake out and throw him out of the plane. Hanging onto one of them, he is forced to make a very dangerous climb to get back into the plane.

In reality

The scene was filmed with the plane shot on a studio set, and special robots were built to control the crates. The entire setup was at a height of 10 meters, and Tom Holland said in an interview that performing stunts and jumping on the crates was quite scary.

In reality

The scene was filmed in Spain, in Alicante on the Costa Blanca coast. Exact coordinates have not yet been found.

National Palace of Barcelona

Scene where Victor introduces Nathan to Chloe; after a brief conversation, she leaves them. Victor starts to panic and asks Nathan to check if the cross is still there. But it turns out Chloe stole it. The guys give chase to retrieve the artifact.

In reality

The scene was filmed at the very top of the fountain cascade at the National Palace in Barcelona; it is into one of these fountains that Drake falls during the chase. The meeting place itself was filmed on the building located right at the foot of the palace. It is from one of these columns that Drake jumps onto the tiled roofs.

Santa Maria del Pi Church

In the movie

Scene where Victor, Nathan, and Chloe come to the church to search for Magellan's treasure. They must solve a puzzle to gain access to the secret part of the church and get closer to the treasure.

In reality

The scene was filmed in the real Santa Maria del Pi; such a church exists and is located in the center of Barcelona. This building was chosen for its 14th-century Gothic architecture, as well as its rich history; another Christian church previously stood on this site.
