The entire film was shot in the real city of Bruges. The idea for the film came to the director when he visited the place. He found it very beautiful but very boring. It was this mood that he wanted to convey in the film. Therefore, they tried to include all the landmarks and show their beauty.

The scene was filmed at the Belfry, which is located in the very center of the city. This point is quite easy to find - it is the very center of Bruges, namely the market square. The Belfry of Bruges is indeed very tall, with 366 steps.

Queen Astrid Park

Scene where Ray tries to commit suicide on a playground. Ken also comes here to kill his partner. But neither the murder nor the suicide happened.

In Reality

The scene was filmed on the playground in Queen Astrid Park. The park was laid out in 1851 and was then called the "Public Garden" or "Botanical Garden". After the death of the Queen of Belgium in 1935, it was renamed in her honor, and in 1936 a bronze bust of Astrid was installed there. The gazebo from which Ken watches Ray has been preserved.
