The main action takes place in a single residential building, which in the series is called "Arconia"; in reality, it is played by the Belnord Hotel. The series also used the inner courtyard of the building and the surrounding areas. Some scenes required the crew to travel to other parts of the city and even the suburbs of New York.

The scene where Oliver Putnam imagines the investigation as a theatrical production, something like a reality show where each candidate tries to prove that they are the killer to make it to the final. Oliver walks across the stage and addresses each candidate to hear their arguments.

In Reality

The scene was filmed at one of Manhattan's luxurious theaters - the United Palace Theater. The theater is located on Broadway. It was built in 1930 as an expensive movie theater, and in 1969 it was bought by a church association and underwent restoration. Now it is open to visitors again. This stylish venue also served as the fictional Russian Tarkovsky Theater in Keanu Reeves' film 'John Wick 3'.
