The film tells the story of a microbiologist who, due to unemployment, goes to work as a geography teacher at a school. According to the plot, it is a simple Perm school, and the kids go on a hike to a mountain river. Both exist in Perm, so filming took place there. The role of the school was played by "School No. 1", and the mountain river and surrounding forest were played by the Usva River.

The scene was filmed at Secondary School No. 1. This is an ordinary educational institution in Perm, which plays the role of "one of the provincial schools in Russia." The purpose of this location is to show that Viktor is not in a bad situation, but it is clearly not what he expected after studying to be a microbiologist.

Kindergarten

In the Movie

The scene where Viktor leaves his school, climbs over the fence, and goes to the kindergarten where Tata studies, where he talks with the teacher Kira Valeryevna. Then he climbs a ladder to the very ceiling.

In Reality

The scene was filmed at Kindergarten No. 410 in Perm. As in the film, this kindergarten is located next to the school, literally through a hole in the fence. The gym scenes were also filmed inside the facility.

Sluzhkin's Apartment

The scene where Sluzhkin smokes on the balcony while his wife collects clothes from the clothesline. They have an unpleasant dialogue in which his wife suggests he find a young mistress instead of her, but without her knowing. At the end of the dialogue, Viktor sees his friend Budkin in the house opposite.

In Reality

The scene was filmed in a panel house located in a residential area on the outskirts of Perm, emphasizing the modest financial situation of Viktor's family. The apartment is on the top floor; judging by the lack of paint on the concrete edge of the balcony, the glazing was removed for the film.

Rafting

The scene where Viktor Sluzhkin organizes a hike for his students in the forest near the Usvinsky Pillars, which includes several overnight stays in tents and rafting on a mountain river. During the hike, everything goes wrong and the kids need to be rescued urgently.

In Reality

The scene was filmed on the Usva River, which flows near the natural monument Usvinsky Pillars. This is a very beautiful place with wild and very dense forest, as well as a fairly turbulent mountain river with steep rocky banks. This created a very suitable atmosphere for the film - beautiful but dangerous.

Kira's Apartment

The scene where Viktor walks Kira home after a walk. He decided to implement his wife's plan to find a mistress, but nothing works out. This time the walk ends at the entrance, and the next time he simply gets drunk in Kira's apartment and falls asleep in her bathtub, clearly ruining the romantic moment.

In Reality

The scene was filmed in a residential area of Perm, we moved from the suburbs almost to the city center. The houses here are nicer, and the overall atmosphere is more cheerful. Kira lives in a house on Gazeta Zvezda Street, building 8.
