Despite the film's action taking place first in the USA and then across Europe, it was predominantly shot in Prague, Czech Republic, even the opening scenes of the school graduation and the after-party.

The scene was filmed at the International School of Prague. Externally, it strongly resembles a collective image of a US school, so it was perfect for filming without having to fly to another continent.

Paris, Fan Bus

Scene where Scott and Cooper enter Paris on a bus with Manchester United fans.

In Reality

The scene was filmed on a street near the Powder Tower. The Eiffel Tower was added to the background using computer graphics.

Bratislava

In the Movie

Scene where Scottie and his friends end up in Bratislava, where a truck driver drops them off.

In Reality

The scene was filmed in the town of Milovice. It once served to house Soviet troops, but was later abandoned, and the film crew found it in that very state—Soviet-style buildings and clearly abandoned houses. This provided an excellent backdrop for filming a post-Soviet country.

Paris Street

Scene where Scott and Cooper meet up with friends Jenny and Jamie in Paris and decide to go to the Louvre!

In Reality

The scene was filmed in the square in front of the Czech Philharmonic building in Prague.

Queue at the Louvre

Scene where Scott and his friends stand in line for the Louvre, which stretches for several blocks. It is here that Scott decides to confront the robot-man.

In Reality

The scene was filmed on the street by the Czech Philharmonic building. In other words, the filmmakers literally went around the corner from the scene where the friends decide to go to the Louvre—it's the same building, just from the other side.

Train Station in Paris

Scene where The friends board a train when Jenny lingers to buy a soda but meets Christoph.

In Reality

The scene was filmed at Prague Main Station—the largest and most important station not only in Prague but in all of the Czech Republic. Since many European stations were built to similar designs, especially the platform areas, there is no problem filming a Paris station in Prague.

Grand-sur-Mer Resort Station

Scene where The guys decide what to do during a long layover in a small seaside town.

In Reality

The scene was filmed at a train station in the Prague suburb of Davle. It is a small settlement with a population of 1,500 people.

Bridge in Amsterdam

In the Movie

Scene where Scott and Jenny sit in a bad mood when Cooper and cheerful Jamie join them.

In Reality

The scene was filmed on a small bridge over the Devil's Canal, located under the famous Charles Bridge.

Mickey's House

In the Movie

Scene where Scott finally reaches Mickey's apartment and learns that she has left with a tour group for Rome.

In Reality

The scene was filmed in a new district of Prague.

Street near the Colosseum

In the Movie

Scene where Scott and his friends fly to Rome and we are shown a view of the Colosseum from one of the Roman streets.

In Reality

The scene was filmed near the Charles Bridge. The building in the background was erased and the Colosseum was added, while everything else was left as is. Interestingly, the location where the guys meet on the bridge in Amsterdam was filmed 50 meters from this location.
