Principal photography took place in Malta, the same location as the first film. Key scenes in the Colosseum and the road along which the troops liberating Rome marched were recreated there.
Scenes of large-scale battles were filmed in Morocco and England on specially built sets.
For the water scenes, large tanks were built, and the scene of the Colosseum being flooded with water was partially filmed at the Malta Film Studios, which houses one of the largest water tanks in the world.

The scene was filmed The basis for Rome was Fort Ricasoli, located in the Maltese city of Kalkara. This impressive fort, built between 1670 and 1698, is considered the largest in Europe. To create the overall look, the film crew, together with archaeologists, cleared the fort of debris and ruins, during which new staircases and hidden entrances were discovered. Additionally, a part of the Colosseum was meticulously recreated for filming key battles.

North African Kingdom of Numidia
