The film was shot in several locations spanning British Columbia (Canada), California (USA), and the Canary Islands (Spain) to create a dynamic action thriller about a former FBI and special forces agent who comes out of hiding after 12 years to protect the daughter she once gave up for adoption. Starring Jennifer Lopez as the heroine forced to confront dangerous enemies from her past, played by Joseph Fiennes and Gael García Bernal. The production skillfully used the town of Smithers and the surrounding Bulkley Valley in British Columbia to portray the fictional Alaskan settlement of Tlingit Bay, while Las Palmas de Gran Canaria convincingly stood in for Havana, Cuba. Studio filming was completed at Sunset Gower Studios in Hollywood. The film features tense snowmobile chases shot on Hudson Bay Mountain, a dramatic car chase through the streets of Las Palmas, and emotional scenes captured at historic landmarks including the 16th-century Santa Ana Cathedral and the neo-Gothic Church of the Angels in Pasadena.
