The film is based on Paulo Coelho's bestseller of the same name, telling the story of a young woman in her mid-twenties who seemingly has everything: attractive looks, a decent job, and a promising future. Despite all this, she attempts suicide. Surviving the attempt, she wakes up in a psychiatric clinic where doctors inform her that she has little time left due to the damage caused by the attempt. In the hospital, she meets other patients who are considered "crazy" simply because they refuse to conform to society's expectations and norms. With nothing to lose, she begins to open up to genuine human connections, raw emotions, and experiences she previously rejected. The film explores themes of mental health, the meaning of existence, and what it truly takes to feel alive, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar alongside David Thewlis and Jonathan Tucker. Much of the filming took place in New York, particularly in Brooklyn and around iconic bridges.
