The film is set in New York City and tells the story of Chuck, a former successful stockbroker who deliberately stepped away from the high-competition world of Wall Street to take a quiet job as an assistant in a New York City morgue. His relatively peaceful existence is disrupted when he is transferred to the night shift to make room for the boss's nephew, and the situation becomes even more chaotic when he meets his new colleague, the irrepressible Bill "Blaze" Blazejowski. Together, after learning about the troubles of Chuck's neighbor Belinda, a prostitute, they decide to combine Chuck's business knowledge (MBA) with Bill's street smarts to launch an unconventional prostitution service right from the morgue. The film is a comedy that captures the gritty and vibrant atmosphere of early 1980s New York, with locations throughout Manhattan, from the bright neon lights of Times Square to the quiet residential streets of the Upper West Side.
