The film is a road trip across Australia from Sydney to Perth, and all the filming locations are along this driving route. For the most part, the entire series was filmed in South and Western Australia. The first season was shot at the Wheatsheaf Hotel in Thebarton and at a hospital in Campbelltown. When it came to filming in the outback, Quorn, Hawker, Port Augusta, and Woomera were among the main locations chosen by the creators. The second season was filmed in Queensland, Australia.
