The film was shot in Los Angeles, Pasadena, and Long Beach, California, USA. All scenes were filmed in California, even those set in Spain and New York. The film's budget and common sense did not allow sending actors to Europe or the other side of the US for just one short scene. So they simply found suitable buildings in terms of style and filmed everything on location.
