The scene was filmed at LAX is the fourth busiest airport in the world (2nd in the US), covering over 3,500 acres along the coast between Westchester and El Segundo. The airport first opened in 1930 as Mines Field, and received its current name in 1949. The airport is served by four parallel runways, the longest of which is nearly 13,000 feet. LAX has nine passenger terminals with 128 gates, as well as a cargo terminal and a heliport. The distinctive Googie-style theme building at the center of the terminal complex was designed in 1961 by architect Paul Williams. The arched structure houses a panoramic retro-futuristic restaurant with views of the airport.

The scene was filmed at Los Angeles Center Studios began its life in 1958 as the Union Oil Center, designed by architect William Pereira and Charles Luckman in the Miesian style. In 1999, a few years after Unocal's headquarters moved, the complex was converted into a film studio with the construction of 6 sound stages. The main office tower and surrounding streets were repurposed as a permanent backlot, with sets including offices, a police station, a hospital, a morgue, elevators in several different styles, a garage, and more.
