The scene was filmed at Koerner University Center, opened in 1959 as the new UBC faculty club designed by architecture professor Fred Lasserre. Over the years, the building has undergone several expansions, and now houses the upscale restaurant Sage Bistro on the upper level, while the lower level, after renovations in 2008, now contains lecture halls and a small café.
