The film takes place in the fictional city of Gotham City. New York, London, and Chicago served as a composite image of this dark city. Some interior locations were also created at England's Shepperton Studios in Surrey. The iconic Wayne Manor is Mentmore Towers, located 32 miles from London in Buckinghamshire. Part of the film takes place in Tibet. It was "played" on screen by Iceland with its incredible landscapes and picturesque glaciers.
Filming Locations:
Tibet
In the Movie

The scene where Ra's al Ghul's messenger tells Bruce Wayne about the League of Shadows, and after that the hero sets off on a journey. He finds a rare blue flower that must be carried to the top of the mountain. Plucking the plant, he moves on.
In Reality

The scene was filmed on the Vatnajökull glacier in Iceland. The filmmakers used the island to recreate Tibetan landscapes. There, on the glacier, the crew built a village, a road, and the exterior of Ra's temple, namely the gate.
Opera House
In the Movie

The scene where young Bruce and his parents attend a performance at the opera house. During the opera, actors dressed as bats appear on stage, Bruce gets scared and asks his father to leave the theater. He agrees and the family hastily leaves the performance.
In Reality

The scene was filmed at the Garrick Theatre in London. The theater building is a national heritage site, and its interior has preserved its historical identity. The film crew needed a theater that emphasized the high status of the Wayne family. The Garrick Theatre, whose history began in the 19th century, was exactly such a place.
Wayne Enterprises Headquarters Building
In the Movie

The scene where Bruce rides the monorail with his parents. His father tells him that the city is going through hard times, so their company built a cheap public transportation system that connects the entire city. At the center of this system stands the Wayne Tower.
In Reality

The scene was filmed in Chicago. The famous Wayne Tower was portrayed by the equally famous real-life building of the Chicago Board of Trade. This skyscraper is a landmark of the city. Given that many Chicago locations were used to visualize Gotham City, it would have been a missed opportunity not to show this monumental building on screen.
