The film shows us the future Earth, namely Great Britain. The filmmakers shot almost the entire film on location, in long takes, so to reduce the amount of graphics, they actually filmed it in London, its surroundings, and many locations across Great Britain.

The scene was filmed in London, in the city center. This shot shows the filmmakers' attention to detail. It was filmed in 2006, and in the background to the right of the cathedral dome we see The Shard skyscraper, which was only built in 2009. It was added using computer graphics, having obtained the building's models from the builders. Thus, the creators emphasized that the action takes place in the future, but did not invent the city's appearance; they predicted it.

The bridge was originally opened in 2000, but after strong vibrations on opening day, it was immediately closed and only reopened two years later after installing viscous fluid dampers to mitigate the problem. The bridge has a distinctive suspension design, with cables passing under the pedestrian surface due to height restrictions and to avoid blocking the view of St. Paul's Cathedral.
