Principal photography took place in Pittsburgh, New York, and Los Angeles. Many iconic locations in the film were shot in London, and the opening scene of Bane's aerial escape was filmed in Scotland. The prison in the film is the stepwell Chand Baori in India, and the surroundings of the prison are the majestic Mehrangarh Fort.

Scene where an American football game is about to start. A boy sings the national anthem at midfield. Bane stands listening, holding a detonator. The whistle blows, the game begins. Bane presses the button, and the stadium (along with half the city) collapses into the ground.

The scene was filmed in Pittsburgh at Acrisure Stadium. It is located on the riverbank and is the home of the Pittsburgh Steelers, six-time Super Bowl champions. The stadium can hold 65,500 people and looks quite massive and monumental, which was needed for one of the film's most dramatic scenes.

Scene where Bruce finally manages to jump from one ledge to another inside the well-prison. He reaches the top and climbs out of the prison. Then he drops a rope for the other prisoners and leaves.

The scene was filmed near Mehrangarh Fort near Jodhpur, India. The structure is one of the largest forts in India. It is located on a 125-meter rock and was built in the 15th century. The huge fortress provided an ideal backdrop for the mysterious "Pit" prison.
