The film, based on the play of the same name by Noël Coward, was shot in the UK. The story takes place in the 1930s, so the filmmakers needed to find locations that reflected that era. In Reality

The scene was filmed at Flintham Hall, a country house in Nottinghamshire, England. The Victorian mansion was built in the late 18th century for the Thoroton family. The estate is called the most romantic Victorian-style house in England.

Stop Near the Church

Scene where newlyweds John and Larita drive in a car, smiling happily and chatting cheerfully. The heroine brakes sharply near a church. John points to a mansion in the distance and says they have arrived at the family's country house. Larita is shocked by its size.

In Reality

The scene was filmed near the Anglican Church of St Mark in Englefield, West Berkshire. Some parts of the building date back to the early 13th century and are considered the best examples of architecture from that period in Berkshire. In 2017, the wedding of Pippa Middleton, the younger sister of the Princess of Wales, took place here.

Ruined Tower

Scene where Larita and John ride horses and stop near a ruined fortress. Under a tree, they find a fox cub caught in a trap. John says "soon the hunt" and releases the animal. After that, John shows Larita the surroundings and tells her a little about himself.

In Reality

The scene was filmed near the Wimpole Gothic Tower, located in the park and gardens of Wimpole Hall in Cambridgeshire. The Gothic tower is the ruins of a pseudo-medieval castle. It was built in 1772 as a decorative landscape element.
