In Reality

The scene was filmed at RMS Queen Mary - a British ocean liner that first set sail in 1936 as the flagship of the Cunard-White Star Line. The ship sailed the Southampton-New York route and held the speed record on that route until 1952. In 1967, the Queen Mary was decommissioned due to the rise of jet travel and moved to Long Beach, where it has been permanently docked ever since. Today, the ship houses a hotel, several restaurants, and a museum, and is listed as a historic site.
