In reality

The scene was filmed at Riverview Hospital - a psychiatric hospital opened in 1913. The hospital expanded to several buildings until it closed in 2012. The vacant buildings were actively used for filming movies and TV shows. In 2017, demolition of old structures began to make way for new psychiatric facilities on the campus.

The scene was filmed at Vancouver Film Studios, the largest in North America outside Los Angeles, featuring a dozen sound stages as well as offices and workshops. Many production crews using the studio as a base film short scenes on its premises without traveling far.
