The scene was filmed at This 2,000-seat auditorium was built in 1931 as an ornate movie palace. It was designed by S. Charles Lee and Samuel Tilden Norton in the French Baroque style with a large central staircase in the lobby surrounded by lavish decorations. The theatre opened with the premiere of Charlie Chaplin's film "City Lights" in January 1931. The theatre closed to the public in 1994 but is still used for special events and filming.
