The main building was expanded in 1945 and reopened in 1949 as the Crease Clinic of Psychological Medicine, a center for short-term psychological treatment. The building is now used almost exclusively for film shoots.

The scene was filmed at This large building, occupying an entire block in downtown Vancouver, was Canada Post's main sorting facility from 1958 until it was sold in 2013 when a new facility near the airport opened. Originally, there was a kilometer-long underground tunnel leading to the waterfront so that mail could be delivered directly from ships to the facility. After the office closed, it became very popular with film crews, and some even used it as a filming location.
