The scene was filmed at The Museum of Anthropology at the University of British Columbia is a tourist, research, and educational museum. The collection focuses on works of the First Nations of the Pacific Northwest. The museum building was constructed in 1976 by architect Arthur Erickson in the style of coastal First Nations.

The scene was filmed at The Central Branch of the Vancouver Public Library, built in 1995, occupies an entire city block in downtown and was designed by Moshe Safdie of DA Architects. A large central atrium is surrounded by the library on one side and several floors of reading rooms on the other. A 21-story office tower and retail spaces adjoin the main building.
