The scene was filmed at the Central Branch of the Vancouver Public Library, built in 1995, which occupies an entire city block in downtown and was designed by Moshe Safdie of DA Architects. The large central atrium is surrounded by the library on one side and several floors of reading rooms on the other. A 21-story office tower and retail spaces adjoin the main building.
Canada Post Main Office

In reality

The scene was filmed at this large building, occupying an entire block in downtown Vancouver, which was the main sorting facility for Canada Post from 1958 until it was sold in 2013 when a new facility opened near the airport. Originally, there was a kilometer-long underground tunnel leading to the waterfront so that mail could be delivered directly from ships to the facility. After the office closed, it became very popular with film crews, and some even used it as a filming location.
