The scene was filmed at This library, designed by Arthur Erickson and opened in 1997, occupies a central place on the UBC campus. With its postmodern architecture, the entire building was designed to resemble an open book. Originally, the library was to be expanded to the rear, but development plans changed, and now the building ends with a simple plaster wall, contrasting with the expressive glass facade at the front.

The scene was filmed at The Chan Centre is a magnificent concert venue located on the campus of the University of British Columbia. The main concert hall, Chan Shun Concert Hall, features a distinctive floating canopy and beautiful teak wood walls. The smaller Telus Studio Theatre has three-tiered seating that can be moved into various configurations. The building also houses a small cinema, the Royal Bank Cinema, a beautiful soaring foyer, and various versatile backstage spaces.
