The scene was filmed at This estate in Los Angeles was built in 1928 for Edward Doheny, son of an oil magnate. In 1965 the estate was acquired by the city and is now a park and historic site. The grounds are open to the public, and the mansion itself can be toured.

The scene was filmed at The Pantages Theatre is an Art Deco movie palace and vaudeville stage opened in 1930 by architect B. Marcus Priteca for the Pantages Theatre Circuit. For a decade starting in 1949, the theater hosted the Academy Awards ceremonies while owned by Howard Hughes. Regular film screenings ceased in 1977, and it has since hosted live theatrical performances. A major restoration in 2000 returned the theater to its original glory.
