The scene was filmed at Lafayette Cemetery in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. It was founded in 1833 and is the oldest cemetery in the city. In 1972, the area was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Since 2019, the cemetery has been closed to visitors.

Scene where Jonah Hex arrives at Fort Resurrection under cover of night. He slowly creeps across the bridge and silently kills two guards. The hero takes a torch and cautiously enters the building. Meeting no one on his way, he examines the walls and the contents of the rooms.

The scene was filmed at Fort Pike, located in the city of New Orleans. This fort was built on the site of an older one in 1819 after the War of 1812. During the Civil War, the structure belonged to the Confederacy for a year until it was recaptured by Union forces. In 1972, the fort was listed on the National Register of Historic Places of the USA.

Scene where Burke, Quentin Turnbull's henchman, walks down the streets towards the establishment where Lila works. He smiles and hums a cheerful tune, while scaring locals with a knife. Lila is writing a letter to Jonah, and at that moment Burke enters her room.

The scene was filmed in the French Quarter of New Orleans, at the intersection of Dumaine and Royal Streets. They were decorated to look like the 1870s, the time of the film's plot. The French Quarter is the oldest district in New Orleans, around which the city was built and expanded. The quarter is listed as a National Historic Landmark of the USA.
