The scene was filmed at the historic cemetery in Southport, North Carolina. Some graves date back to the mid-1700s. Since 1976, this cemetery has been protected and maintained by the Southport Historical Society. They have made it their special goal to catalog all information found on the graves.

Church

Scene where Landon comes to the church where Jamie's father is rehearsing a sermon. The hero asks permission to take the girl to dinner, but the father refuses and asks him to leave. But Landon insists, and in the end, he gets what he wants.

In Reality

The scene was filmed at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Southport. The church was founded in 1798, and the current building was built in 1889. Services are held here now, and the church is open to tourists.

Chapel

Scene where Landon waits for Jamie at the altar. The doors open and the heroine and her father step onto the threshold. They walk along the rows and stop next to Landon. Jamie's father begins the wedding ceremony. The lovers happily exchange vows.

The scene was filmed at Luola's Chapel in Winnabow, North Carolina. The building is located on Orton Plantation, one of the most famous rice plantations in the Lower Cape Fear region. The chapel is situated in a secluded spot among trees and well-kept bushes.
