The scene was filmed at The Central Library was built in 1926 by architect Bertram Grosvenor Goodhue in the Mediterranean Revival style with Egyptian influences. The library was significantly expanded in the 1980s with an eight-story wing featuring an atrium, designed by Hardy Holzman Pfeiffer Associates in the modernist style. In addition to books, the library also houses the massive photo collection of the Los Angeles Public Library, containing over 3 million historical photographs.
