The scene was filmed at Los Angeles Center Studios began its life in 1958 as the "Union Oil Center," designed by architect William Pereira and Charles Luckman in the Miesian style. In 1999, a few years after the relocation of Unocal's headquarters, the complex was converted into a film studio with the construction of 6 sound stages. The main office tower and surrounding streets were repurposed into a permanent backlot, where sets were built including offices, a police station, a hospital, a morgue, elevators in several different styles, a garage, and much more.

The scene was filmed at The grand Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles opened in 1923 as the largest hotel west of the Mississippi. The hotel was designed by Schultze & Weaver in a mixture of Mediterranean styles. The hotel's lavish interior includes frescoes by artist Giovanni Smeraldi, who also painted works for the Vatican and the White House. In addition to being featured in hundreds of films and TV shows over the years, the hotel was also the venue where the Academy Awards were planned in 1927 and hosted the ceremony eight times over the years.

The impressive Art Deco lobby and mezzanine were converted into the restaurant and dance club Cicada.

The scene was filmed at Built in the 1930s to consolidate several different railroad services, this grand terminal was erected on the site of the city's original Chinatown at a cost of $11 million. The station was designed primarily by John and Donald Parkinson in a mishmash of various styles. Across the tracks, connected by an underground tunnel, is the Patsaouras Transit Plaza, designed by Ehrenkrantz & Eckstut, which serves several bus lines and also houses the Metro offices.

The scene was filmed at S.S. Lane Victory is a Victory-class cargo ship built in 1945 during World War II to deliver food and supplies across the Pacific. The ship resumed service during the Korean War to assist in the evacuation of thousands of military personnel and civilians. It was last commissioned to deliver ammunition and cargo during the Vietnam War, after which it was placed in preservation. In 1992, the ship underwent extensive repairs and upgrades in dry dock and has since served as a museum and training vessel.
