The scene was filmed at Parkwood Estate, built in 1917, was the former home of GM of Canada founder Samuel McLaughlin. The McLaughlin family moved out in 1972, and in 1989 the estate became a historic site and is now a museum.

The scene was filmed at A Gothic Revival mansion built in 1914 for Sir Henry Mill Pellatt at a cost of $3.5 million. After several owners, in 1933 the mansion became city property and was leased to the Kiwanis Club for 74 years. Currently, the mansion is open for tours.
