The scene was filmed at Built in 1917, Parkwood Estate was the former home of GM of Canada founder Samuel McLaughlin. The McLaughlin family moved out in 1972, and in 1989 the estate became a historic site and is now a museum.

The scene was filmed at Built in 1941 on the site of a former amusement park, the R. C. Harris Water Treatment Plant currently supplies nearly half of Toronto's drinking water. The building was designed in the Art Deco style and is popularly known as the Palace of Purification for its grand architecture both inside and out. The plant was named after Rowland Caldwell Harris, who was Toronto's Commissioner of Works at the time of construction.
