The scene was filmed at Osgoode Hall, designed by John Ewart and William Warren Baldwin in Neoclassical and Palladian styles. It opened in 1832 to house the lawyers of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario and their law school, which later became Osgoode Hall Law School. Today, the building houses various provincial courts and the Law Society of Ontario with its Great Library.
