The scene was filmed at Quinta de Mirabel - a cigarral on the outskirts of Toledo, built in the 1500s for the Archbishop of Toledo, Gaspar de Quiroga y Vela. It stood empty for several decades until it passed to the second Marquis of Malpica, whose family owned it until 1862, when it again passed to the House of Bailén, which owns it to this day. The complex includes several different wings built in different periods over the centuries, as well as a beautiful garden overlooking the city.
