The scene was filmed The cast-iron bridge over the lake, designed by Calvert Vaux and Jacob Wrey Mould and opened in 1862, was the first cast-iron bridge built in the park. Bow Bridge is the longest bridge in Central Park, measuring 87 feet in length. The bridge is topped with eight cast-iron urns, which are duplicates installed in 2008 to replace the originals that disappeared in the 1920s.

Although originally built as a naturalistic pond filled with water lilies, it was later remodeled with sharper edges to support a fleet of model boats.
