The scene was filmed at Designed by architect Claud Beelman in the corporate modern style, the 12-story hotel began its life as the headquarters of the Superior oil company in 1955. The exterior of the building is finished in white marble and stainless steel. In 2002, the building reopened after a major renovation as the second location of The Standard hotel, with a rooftop pool, bar, and dance floor on the 12th floor.

The scene was filmed at This 2,000-seat hall was built in 1931 as an ornate movie palace. It was designed by S. Charles Lee and Samuel Tilden Norton in the French Baroque style, with a grand central staircase in the lobby surrounded by lavish decorations. The theater opened with the premiere of Charlie Chaplin's film "City Lights" in January 1931. The theater closed to the public in 1994 but is still used for special events and filming.
