The scene was filmed at The Ambassador Hotel was built in 1921 by architect Myron Hunt in the Mediterranean Revival style. Over the years, the hotel and its Cocoanut Grove nightclub were very popular celebrity hangouts. In 1968, Senator Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated in the hotel's main kitchen, which began the hotel's rapid decline. The hotel closed to guests in 1989, though it remained open for filming and special events. The hotel was finally demolished in 2005, preserving only a few small parts that were used to build the new Los Angeles High School of the Arts.

The scene was filmed at A 33-story hotel in downtown Los Angeles, opened in 1976. The hotel was designed by architect John C. Portman Jr. in a postmodern design consisting of five glass cylinders. When the hotel opened, it was the largest in the city and contained a revolving restaurant on the top floor.

The scene was filmed at The grand Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles opened in 1923 as the largest hotel west of the Mississippi. The hotel was designed by Schultze & Weaver in a mix of Mediterranean styles. The hotel's lavish interior includes frescoes by artist Giovanni Smeraldi, who also painted works for the Vatican and the White House. In addition to being featured in hundreds of films and TV shows over the years, the hotel was also the planned venue for the 1927 Academy Awards and hosted the ceremony eight times over the years.
