The building was designed by architects Frederick Cumberland and William Storm in the Romanesque Revival style with admixtures of other styles.

The scene was filmed at Convocation Hall was designed by architects Darling and Pearson in the Edwardian Baroque style and opened in 1907 to host annual convocation ceremonies and other university events. The hall features a large domed rotunda seating approximately 1,700 people.

The scene was filmed at Osgoode Hall was designed by John Ewart and William Warren Baldwin in the Neoclassical and Palladian styles. It was opened in 1832 to house the lawyers of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario and their law school, which eventually became Osgoode Hall Law School. The building currently houses various provincial courts and the Law Society of Ontario with its Great Library.
