The scene was filmed at Allan Gardens began as gardens and a conservatory created by the Toronto Horticultural Society in 1860 and fully transferred to the city in 1888. The park features a conservatory known as the Palm House, consisting of six greenhouses built in 1910 after the old horticultural pavilion was destroyed by fire.

The scene was filmed at The first new building constructed on campus after its founding in 1963, the Science Wing (originally named Andrews Building) was designed by John Andrews in the Brutalist style and completed in 1964. The building, along with the adjacent Humanities Wing, was built with long open corridors in the center with balconies overlooking them, designed like city streets.

The scene was filmed at The Hearn Generating Station is a decommissioned power plant, originally coal-fired built in 1951 and converted to natural gas in the 1970s. The station was closed in the 1980s, and the site has been largely unused since. Most of the equipment inside was removed in 2002 when plans were made to turn the site into a film studio, but those plans were eventually abandoned.

The scene was filmed at Underpass Park is a park opened in 2012 located under the Eastern Avenue viaduct. The park is part of the Waterfront Toronto initiative and was designed by architects from Phillips Farevaag Smallenberg in collaboration with The Planning Partnership. The park replaces a previously undeveloped gravel lot and contains an artwork called "Mirage on the Ceiling" designed by Paul Raff, consisting of numerous octagonal reflective steel panels. Many of the 50 columns supporting the viaduct are decorated with artworks, and the entire space is illuminated with colored LED lighting.
