The scene was filmed at The grand Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles opened in 1923 as the largest hotel west of the Mississippi. The hotel was designed by Schultze & Weaver in a mix of Mediterranean styles. The lavish interior includes frescoes by artist Giovanni Smeraldi, who also painted works for the Vatican and the White House. In addition to being featured in hundreds of films and TV shows over the years, it was also the venue where the Academy Awards were planned in 1927 and hosted the ceremony eight times over the years.

The scene was filmed at Griffith Observatory was built in 1935 on land donated by Griffith J. Griffith specifically for the creation of an observatory and museum for the public. The building was designed by architect John C. Austin in Greek and Beaux-Arts styles and contains only the third planetarium opened in the country. The observatory's iconic status and stunning views of the city have made it a very popular filming location.

The scene was filmed at Los Angeles City Hall is a 32-story office building built in 1928 and was the first dedicated city hall building for Los Angeles. The building was designed in a combination of various styles and did not claim any specific style. Due to the city charter limiting building height, the tower was the tallest building in Los Angeles until 1964.
