The scene was filmed at a 51-story skyscraper, the first building in a new three-tower office complex completed in 2009. Originally planned for development in the 1990s, the project stalled during the economic downturn and was eventually halted in 1993, when only the underground parking and a six-story elevator shaft were completed. When the site was developed, the elevator shaft was dismantled, but the parking remained from the original project.

The main building includes a 90-seat theater, several other classrooms, and common areas for students. The building was designed by Kleinfeldt Mychajlowycz Architects in 2007 and is a LEED Silver building with a green roof and a large solar panel. The 40-acre site features various training buildings, towers, aircraft mock-ups, and other facilities for training in various complex scenarios.

The project was originally proposed in 1984, but funding issues delayed construction until 2002. The interior of the hall is a five-level auditorium with state-of-the-art acoustic engineering, including extensive rubber isolation of the entire structure to reduce noise from streets and subways.
