The scene was filmed Originally, Piccadilly Circus was built as Regent Circus South in 1819 and received its current name in the 1880s. Starting in 1908 with the Perrier sign, the intersection was surrounded by distinctive illuminated signs, giving it a characteristic Times Square feel, although currently all of this has been reduced to one building on the northwest corner of the circle. The Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain, originally located in the center of the circle but moved as roads changed, was built in 1892 in memory of the Victorian political figure Lord Shaftesbury.

The scene was filmed Battersea Power Station is a pair of coal-fired power stations built in 1929-41, designed by architects J. Theo Halliday and Giles Gilbert Scott in a brick cathedral style with luxurious Art Deco interiors. The stations were closed in 1975 and stood vacant for over 35 years as various redevelopment plans failed. Redevelopment of the site finally began in 2013, when a Malaysian developer and architect Frank Gehry, in partnership with Foster + Partners, restored the power station, turning it into offices that will primarily house Apple's largest European offices, with over 4,000 homes on the adjacent site.
