Scene was filmed at Originally built as Regent Circus South in 1819, Piccadilly Circus acquired its current name in the 1880s. Starting in 1908 with a Perrier sign, the junction has been surrounded by characteristic illuminated signs giving it a Times Square feel, though this has now been reduced to a single building on the north-west corner of the circus. The Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain, originally located in the centre of the circus but moved as roads changed, was built in 1892 in memory of Victorian politician Lord Shaftesbury.
