The scene was filmed at The Art Gallery is located in the former provincial courthouse building, built in 1906 in the neoclassical style. This building is on the Vancouver Heritage Register.

The scene was filmed at The Central Branch of the Vancouver Public Library, built in 1995, occupies an entire city block in downtown and was designed by Moshe Safdie of DA Architects. The large central atrium is surrounded by the library on one side and several floors of reading rooms on the other. A 21-story office tower and retail spaces adjoin the main building.
