The scene was filmed at Somerset House is a large neoclassical building designed by Sir William Chambers and built in 1776 on the Strand overlooking the Thames. For over two centuries, the building housed various learned societies and government offices, including the Royal Academy, the Geological Society, the Navy Board, and the Stamp and Tax Office. In the mid-1980s, the building was converted into a center for the visual arts.

The scene was filmed at The house at Luton Hoo estate was designed in neoclassical style by architect Robert Adam and built for John Stuart, 3rd Earl of Bute, starting in 1767. The exterior of the house was updated by architect Robert Smirke in 1830 to its current appearance. The house was destroyed by fire in 1843, and during the subsequent rebuilding, the interior was modernized to match Smirke's exterior. The interior was redone again in 1903 by the new owner, Sir Julius Wernher, in the Belle Époque style. The house now houses a luxury 228-room hotel, and the surrounding grounds still belong to the Wernher family.

The scene was filmed at The Athenaeum is a private club for men pursuing intellectual interests, with a particular emphasis on members who have achieved distinction in the sciences and arts. Women were not admitted to the club as guests until 1972, and were denied membership until 2002. The club building was built in 1830 by architect Decimus Burton in neoclassical style, with the top two floors added later in the late 19th century.
