The scene was filmed at Apthorp - an Italian Renaissance-style apartment building built in 1908 for William Waldorf Astor by the architectural firm Clinton & Russell. The center of the building features a cobblestone courtyard and driveway. The building was sold in 2006 and converted into condominiums in 2008, selling for about $3,000 per square foot.

The scene was filmed at Bryant Park is located in midtown, home to the New York Public Library. Originally opened in 1847 as Reservoir Square, it was renamed Bryant Park in 1884. Over the years, the park fell into disrepair until a renovation in the 1980s, when the entire park was rebuilt over the newly constructed underground library stacks.

The scene was filmed at The imposing main building of the New York Public Library began construction in 1902. It was completed in 1910 but only opened in 1911, as it took a year to place all 1,000,000 volumes on the shelves. In the 1980s, the library was expanded under neighboring Bryant Park, where miles of new shelves were installed to house the growing collection.
